Tom Sawyer’s RV Park

1286 S 8th St, West Memphis, AR 72301

The endless river traffic of the Mississippi is the main attraction at Tom Sawyer’s. The atmosphere is relaxed, laid back and peaceful while the RV Park is clean, well maintained and totally natural. The view of the sun rising over the Mississippi River is rivaled only by the full moon rising in the fall. Plenty of trails and wildlife compliment the nicely mowed fields and long, level concrete sites. Across the River is unspoiled Tennessee flood plain and just one bend upstream is the Memphis skyline. If it’s fishing, you are looking for then look no further since we have a lake and two ponds stocked with an amazing array of fish.

Heading to Texas made a stop here around 9:30pm. Office has registration slips ready though it's closed. Sites are pull through and easy to find. Great stop. Bonus is that woke up to a great view of the Mississippi River! Will stay there again.

I stayed here 8/10/22 and was generally satisfied. The campground is laid out very nicely, well kept, and the manager was really on the ball. I really enjoyed sipping a beer while I cooked my dinner and watched the barges traverse the Mississippi. The adjacent neighborhood is sketchy, but we were isolated from it, and I felt safe. I would recommend it, for sure.

I’d give a zero if I could! We called to see if they had room. It looked like a great place. They don’t have an open office so had to leave a message. The gal that called back was very short and spoke very quickly after I picked up the phone and said hello. She had an Indy accent and I didn’t understand her and said I’m sorry I didn’t understand…who is this? She got louder and with a nasty tone said who she was and that she needed my name to book us for the next night. I said well I have a few questions first. She was even more rude and with a nastier tone said are you going to stay her or not and what’s your name. I asked if they had a dog park. She said yes but only on a leash. I asked if they had a place where dogs could run…and…lol…she yelled at me and said YES! WE HAVE OVER 100 acres! I said can the dogs run free and she again annoyed and yelling NO DOGS ON A LEASH! She said again, what’s your name so I can put you in. I just said since you’re yelling at me and how incredibly rude you are ABSOLUTELY NOT! and I hung up.

We just returned from a trip and stayed here for 2 nights with myself, my husband and 2 teenagers and had the best time. Yes, it was hot but that didn't stop us from enjoying the fishing and the Mississippi River. The park is very quiet and relaxing. We did use the bath house and it was good, nothing fancy but just what you need. We will definitely be stopping here again!

There are 2 ways to come to that place. For some reason our Navi made us drive to the city. It's super dangerous around. We didn't know until we saw it. The RV park itself is safe and the washers are free, but it was weird that you can't walk into the office and it looked not very well maintained. Our place was level, the price a little too high for what it was. No playground, no pool, no pet park, etc... Just a very simple park in-between water.Looked nice and clean around the sides.

This is my Go To Campground when crossing the country.I plan my route around staying here for a night or two because it's that great.Sites are super long, so my truck and camper, plus my wife's are and motorcycle trailer ALL fit comfortably in the site. It's easy access from the interstate, but not so close you can hear the highway.I like watching the barges moving up and down the Mississippi River.

We loved our stay here! The park has a mix of concrete and gravel sites. We stayed in site 68, concrete pull-through and very level. It backed up to the Mississippi River so our view was gorgeous! It was a very peaceful stay and we enjoyed watching the barges go by. Staff was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend Tom Sawyers RV park and will definitely stay again next time we're in the area.

We spent two nights here and had a wonderful spot right on the river, it was great as there was a grassy area right there for our dog to run and roam on a leash. The site was nice and clean and big, it had a picnic table. The park offers free laundry facilities which was a bonus and they were very clean as well. The only thing that we noticed on the last day was there was a very small tick on our screen door. I found one on me later on( yikes) and one on my dog 😬 I made a preventative spray for the future from essential oils and will start eating more garlic. Don’t want to mess with ticks.

Very nice. Do not hesitate to stay here. We took a site by the river in the wide open area with level pull thrus but there are wooded sites also that set away from the river. All sites have grassy lawn area. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Level concrete pads surrounded by gravel directly overlooking the Arkansas River. Good size grass area on the riverfront to walk dogs, set chairs, etc.Direct access to a walking path over the river to downtown Little Rock, with all of its restaurants & bars & Bill Clinton's Presidential Library.Very safe, with a Passcode needed to enter/exit outside of normal business hours. One of our best campsites.

Owners we're super helpful. Nice park! We only stayed one night, but it was quiet and they definitely deserve a 5 star 🌟

They have three, 30 amp overflow spots right at the entrance. What I liked about this RV park was that it was so central to everything downtown. The 30 amp spots do not have sewer but I was there just for two nights and they have a dump station. So it was cool, all in all. Pretty good views of the Riverside and all the nightly river bridge lightings. Good value for money.

I stayed here a year ago and had nothing but problems. I've stayed several times and always end up in the overflow lot. The electricity hookups were a rats nest, there was one hose to share and the bathrooms were still closed for covid. The woman I spoke with, well... that was last year. I stayed this past weekend and was very impressed. The power in the overflow area (yep stuck there again) was completely cleared up and simple to use, the water hoses were clearly arranged and the bathrooms were spotless. Although the office closed at four, a very nice gentleman came by to see if all was good. Very different and pleasant experience! Maybe next time I'll call early enough to get a real site!

We love this park. It's very well maintained. Lots of asphalt and concrete. Good dog run right on the river. Beautiful at night. Would highly recommend this park next time you were in Little Rock.

Wonderful kind people. Deb the manager was great. Limited amenities but great central location. Wonderful views of the river and downtown skyline. Large concrete pads. Full hookups allow you to head in or back in. Great Internet, no cable. Will stay there again! (Modest prices too).

There's not enough that I can say about this place. The views are amazing, while some people complain about the lack of trees, There's just so many other things that are captivating that you can look at all day. The fresh air that rolls off the river is refreshing, The view of the lights And the buildings at night again it's just calming. You have the core of two cites within walking distance that gives you all types of food, coffee shops, comedy clubs, museums, libraries banks, propane, nightlife etc, market district and the Argenta market district again all within walking distance. The camp ground is really really clean consistently, The staff is amazing always nice always concern about your stay. It's gated and you have miles and miles of walking and biking trails right from your campground. This is not a notable con but something that you should be aware of, don't hesitate book now and book for as long as you think you're going to be there, because it feels up fast.

Attended the 75th Anniversary of the Razorback. The museum is great and the tug was open and ready for a tour. Now in 2021 the 80th Anniversary and still going strong. It’s interesting plan a visit soon.

It has been a few months since we visited this park, but I really felt I needed to go back and say how nice of a visit we had here. Loved the access to the downtown area via bike/walking bridges. Park was clean, super view to the river, and really a very unique experience for us. We loved being close to tons of things to do with our bikes. Baseball park is just a few blocks away, the lights on the bridges are awesome, all in a gated area which made us feel super safe. Loved the visit. Staff was nice. Would love to visit here again!
