Goodland KOA Journey

1114 US-24, Goodland, KS 67735

This award-winning KOA is an oasis of green lawns and mature shade trees less than a mile from I-70. It’s a great place to refresh and regroup! After a long day on the road, take a dip in the pool or just enjoy the abundant flowers. You’ll find 30/50-amp, full-hookup Pull-Thru RV Sites, Back-In RV Sites, basic water and electric sites and Tent Sites. Or try a Cabin with A/C for hot summer days! Free Wi-Fi is offered throughout the park. Goodland’s High Plains Museum contains a replica of America’s first patented helicopter, built by two local men in 1909. Near the city park, a giant 32-foot-high replica of Vincent van Gogh’s famous sunflower painting rises on an 80-foot easel, a tribute to Kansas’ status as the Sunflower State.

Goodland KOA is amazing in every way. When you arrive, Shawn greets you and is super friendly and helpful. Our site was perfect…DP4…and our dogs were so happy with Camp K9. We can’t say enough about this RV Campground. It’s immaculate!! Definitely put this one on your list!

Nice, clean bathrooms and showers. Don't book the very last tent site, especially if it rains. We woke up to water over our ankles when we stepped outside the tent. The whole site flooded. I wish they would have warned us considering there were only 2 other tent campers, they could have moved us. There is a storm shelter so that's nice considering it is Kansas.

They were able to squeeze us in at the last minute for an overnight RV stay. Very well maintained park with a pool, small dog park, and playground. Some sites have patios, picnic tables or nice furniture, and fire pits.Easy check in and out. Friendly people.

We stayed here on our way out and on the way back. It was quite nice. We had time to do laundry, take a dip in the pool, and relax. They have some sites that have a private fenced in dog kennel. Plenty of trees for shade here as well. The off leash dog area is nice as well. We will most likely stay again when we head that way.

Only stayed the night on a cross country return. They're working on the front with upgrades. You can tell they're trying to improve everything. The pool looked awesome! Very courteous staff. If you need a nice place to stay, this is it.

Homies, this is a great KOA for camping of all kinds! They’ve got a laundromat, store, tornado shelter, playground, swimming pool, dog park, and more! Nice pull through sites for longer set ups which is very much appreciated. Nice and jolly staff too! What more can I say? I highly recommend this place!

We stopped here without a reservation, and honestly, not having looked at the reviews. Without a doubt, it is the best commercial campground we have ever stayed at. Not only was everything in proper working order and very clean, but there was an attention to detail making everything even better. For instance, the nice new picnic tables sit on professionally made oval concrete bases. There are lattice work panels strategically placed for better aesthetics, as well as tasteful garden art. There was a laundry cart for use in the laundry room, along with books and magazines. The owner was very helpful in helping us choose a spot. There was even a vase full of poppies in the ladies room that matched a painting on the wall. All well above and beyond what we have grown to expect!

Deer Creek Valley RV Park

3140 SE 21st St, Topeka, KS 66607

Welcome to Topeka’s top-rated RV Park. Deer Creek Valley RV Park is located just off I-70 @ Exit 364B. We are centrally located near major shopping, restaurants and services, yet in a quiet, comfortable, secure area. We are located approximately 1.5 miles north of Lake Shawnee, where you can enjoy fishing, boating, jet skiing, paddle boating, or the beautiful 8-mile trail around the entire lake for walking or bike riding.

Very nice RV Resort. All paved roads and nice long paved sites with plenty of space between them. Very quiet at night. Very nice pool and fenced dog run.
If you're in the area and need a place to recharge for a day or few, this is the place. It's a parking lot campground, but the sites are large, level concrete sites with well maintained grass around your site. The entire place is kept clean and long term residents take pride in their sites. Dog park is huge. Pool area is very nice. Very quiet and relaxing. My favorite part is for a small fee they will let you wash your camper and vehicle on site. They appreciate the value in our rigs.

We stayed at Deer Creek Valley for one night when coming home from Colorado. We were told if arriving after 5:00 they would text us a code for the gate, of which they did earlier in the day! The campground had a packet of information ready for us in the office vestibule; they seem very well organized! The pool was a great place to burn energy after driving all day, and the bathrooms were clean. We would definitely stay here again!

Exceptionally clean, well kept, and convenient to I 70 (exit 364B). Very long concrete, staggered sites with grass pads between them. Laundry, pool and dog run area. The price is very reasonable and the facility is convenient to city shopping areas. The park is within 2-3 miles of Lake Shawnee County Park which is very attractive and well maintained for golf, biking, fishing, boating and other sports. The lake is quite large and has lovely garden areas within park along the paved walking/biking pathway encircling the lake. Although one can drive to Shawnee Lake in minutes, it is an easy bike ride if care is taken while using the streets. We stayed at Deer Creek Valley in an Airstream for 3 nights.

We were looking for a place to stay the night on a trip from CO to MD. This place had a spot available so I booked it. I told my husband we had to be there before 10pm and he informed that was not possible due to how far we were still away. I immediately called right back and let them know we could not check in before 10pm and they said well sorry but no exceptions and we already ran your credit card and we cannot refund your money.UPDATE: We did receive the refund and that is appreciated. However the experience I posted indeed happened. The reservation was not under my name, but my husband's. We were told we absolutely could not check in after 10pm. Not 5 minutes went by from first call to second call to cancel. We were then told a refund was not possible.

We have been camping at Spring Lake for the past three summers. At first we loved it and made it our number one camp spot. We loved the amenities and holiday events! This summer it appears there is new management??? Several pools closings with no communication (getting kids ready to go to the pool and it being closed is no fun). When we have went to staff with concerns, they don’t seem to care and quite frankly were pretty rude and Insensitive. We told staff about a wasp infestation under the play equipment and were told they would handle it in the morning ( it was 4 I think he afternoon). The resort requires an enclosed fire pit, but does not include it in the site and they are not always available to rent. When I brought this up as a concern I was told we didn’t need to have a fire. The requirement of a pool band was Inconvenient, especially when you are a distance from the main office. Family of staff acted entitled and at one point threw my daughters stuff off a chair so she could have it then when and talked LOUDLY about it to her family member… my daughter is 12 so I’m not sure what they were trying to accomplish? Fireworks were not allowed wed on the 4th, only on the 3rd…again, this was not clearly communicated. The electric hookups are not strong enough to support a full park, so we experienced outages anytime we cooked anything as did our family members who were camping with us . My point is, this family friendly environment is not as friendly as we remember it to be. We camp often, and as much as we would love to come back, we won’t be returning.

A very nice and large campground, with fishing ponds. The roads are dirt / gravel. The campsites are not level. The wind blew a lot of dust. There are a lot of goose around and also a lot of goose poop. Swimming pool was in renovation. All in all worth the money. We stayed two nights.
